湖南农业大学、湖南大学博士生导师,湖南省青年科技奖和湖南省自然科学杰出青年基金获得者,湖南省青年科技人才托举工程培养对象。长期从事水稻高产、高抗(抗病、抗虫、非生物逆境)、工程雄性不育系育种及杂交稻机械化制种等方面的基础与应用基础研究。主要成效:(1)运用基因工程手段实现了普通细胞核雄性不育系的高效繁殖,解决了第三代杂交稻育种关键技术难题,相关发明专利成果转让3000万元;(2)合作育成了广两优1128、T优207、T优463、T优855和Y两优1号等杂交组合,产生了显著的社会效益和经济效益;(3)克隆了产量性状相关基因DSTreg1与QTL:PL6、隐性红颖基因rh4,解析了强优恢复系HR1128大穗抗倒的分子遗传基础,建立了落粒性改良的基因编辑定向育种技术。获得湖南省科技进步一等奖一项、二、三等奖9项,在PNAS、Plant Molecular Biology、Rice等主流期刊上发表SCI论文15篇;主持科研项目11项,授权发明专利10项。 2005年作为引进人才调入湖南农业大学工作,现为学校旱地作物研究所所长、国家花生工程技术研究中心长沙分中心暨湖南省花生工程技术研究中心主任、湖南省特色粮油专家指导组组长、湖南省油菜产业技术体系花生岗位科学家、省委组织部“湘西特聘专家”。主攻花生遗传育种、栽培生理生态,涉猎农业生态、耕作制度、农艺农机融合等研究。承担国家重点研发计划、国家科技支撑计划国家自科基金、国家现代农业产业技术体系等课题20余项。获得国家科技进步二等奖、省部级一、二、三等科技进步奖、农业部优秀创新团队等成果奖励7项,培育花生良种15个,制定国家标准、省级规程、国家主推技术等11个,获得专利2个,发表论文100余篇。
